After meeting Christer Lihammar in February of 2007, Ryan was invited to travel to Stockholm, Sweden to investigate Storesupport and see about the prospects of bringing the concept to Canada based on it’s success in the Swedish market.
During his trip he realized that the company thrived there because of how it was run rather than what it necessarily did. Storesupport capitalized on the niche market of retail staffing and treated it’s employees and customers how the deserve to be treated. What really struck him was the quality controls, team building philosophies and how the company custom designed and use workforces to create solutions.
Sensing opportunity, Ryan decided to make a career change after spending ten years in the golf industry as a Canadian PGA teaching and playing professional. He relocating back to Ontario from British Columbia after eight years on the west coast, and he spent the better part of two years investigating the Canadian market for business’ in the staffing and service industry that would compare or be competition for Storesupport. With help from childhood friend and now business partner Ryan Ernst, they discovered that there was definitely a need and a demand.
Ryan was raised in Oakville, Ontario where he attended Appleby College and then went on to graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University with Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 1999. He added a business diploma from Camosun College in 2001 before endeavouring highly successfully in the golf and travel industries.
Using his the sales and marketing background, Ryan’s high-energy personality thrives in fast paced challenging environments and he truly enjoys working with people to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. He believes in the power of the human spirit and that we all control our own destiny.
He is building Storesupport in Canada to set new industry standards that will revolutionize the retail staffing industry while making the company a leader in making people’s lives better.
“When a company believes in and empowers its people, the more the people will give back their power. The energy you put into believing in them will come back to you exponentially.”
